First prize and project execution for the modernization of the public square surrounding the monument to Joseph Wybicki, a famous polish poet, politician and activist from the late XVIII century, and author of the lyrics in the polish national anthem.

In the jury’s opinion, formed by doctors in architecture from the University of Gdansk and members of the city council, the project joins all the required elements and at the same time creates a modern and functional architectural space which can also be enjoyed by the disabled.

The project, inspired on the white eagle’s wing which is part of both the monument and the polish national shield, adds three dimensional elements to an urban design which flows effortlessly from the pavement to unite it all in a single concept.

The announcement appears in the city council’s web page and the local television news network.

Alicja assisted to the award ceremony and was interviewed by the local television.
